So often we hear: "Necessity is the mother of invention", and that may be true in many instances. On the other hand, Leafpond believes, that in more cases than not, it's "Creativity" that is really the mother of invention. Without the creative impulse or a creative spirit, artists and innovators might be living adrift in a very different kind of world. But creative ability is not just the domain of artists and innovators. We can all access our creativity and enhance our lives.

Children are thought to be naturally creative, but that natural inclination is oftentimes lost by adulthood. Many adults lament their lack of creativity, discounting such things as an ability to coordinate colors, to compose photographs or even to concoct an original recipe.

The key to creativity is expression. It can be expressed physically, like dancers or actors, or it can be expressed through different media, on canvas, on paper or clay. Creativity can take on a permanent form or it can be ephemeral. Above all, allow creativity to flow, and in the words of Ray Bradbury, "Don't think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity."
